PSU Recomendation for AMD

Post by StEaLtH-X »

I need some help with what PSU to buy.. Its for a epox 8rda3+ board and an AMD 2500.. I will be running 4-6 fans.. what do you recomend need a cheap one at that.. Ego said that PSU is really AMD compatible only if it has dual fans.. so somthing cheap would be nice, I only need what I need nothing more...

blue and green is good.

if $ was no object, I would probably get the most expensive antec PS there es. antec true blue what ever. or that vantec stealth expensive verson would be good also.

Allied

Post by eGoCeNTRoNiX »

Go to newegg and look for Allied PSUs (they're under foxconn) blade did a review on one a while back and it held it's own. They have a 400W one for $36 shipped. It has two fans, if you later want to change them out to blue LED fans this can be done easily and cheeply. I have this PSU in one of my rigs now and it's a nice stable PSU got my XP1700 OCd to 1.83ghz (the mobo is limiting me) on the first boot without a hitch. I couldn't figure out how to link to newegg or I'd have done that.. ;) I didn't say they were not AMD "compatible" if they didn't have two fans, I said they weren't AMD "approved" ;) GL eGo

LiteOn

Post by eGoCeNTRoNiX »

Just a question.. But why get a CD-ROM when you can get a CD-RW for a few bux more? I'd get a LiteOn or Plextor CD-RW Any speed that wets your whistle.. eGo

Also, on the PSU, I can't make your decisions for you. But I can make recommendations. I feel the Allied PSU is a decent PSU for the price. It suits my needs just fine. I also have a 450W model of the same brand that works well with my other 1700+ OCd to 2.1ghz and 5 4 LED fans and my Ti4400 OCd to Ti4600 speeds..

Why would you RMA it?

Post by eGoCeNTRoNiX »

Was it supposed to be a different revision? If they didn't specify which one you were buying, there's not much you can do to RMA it. eGo

If you have problems..

Post by eGoCeNTRoNiX »

RMA it.. If you don't, hang on to it.. They are good about RMAs but I wouldn't waste the effort until you know it's a problem.. eGo

The manuals says revision 1.0.... is the rev 1.0 different in look from the 2.0?

Check out this link the board is diff but the manual still says 1.0

http://www.epox.nl/english/products/mot ... da3%2B.htm

Only diff is the fan beside CPU Socket...
