I'm about to do a little upgrading.
An ATI 9800pro 256 is going to replace the retail 8500
Thermalright SLK-800 (A) Socket 462 Cooler to replace te retail cpu cooler
Enermax Whisper Fan 80x25mm
or
80x25mm Vantec ThermoFlow Temperature Controlled Fan
Not sure which fan yet. I might get both just to try them out.
These will be in about another month or so.
WD Raptor SATA.
1gig Corsair XMS (2 x 512MB)

Mmmm Raptor... :d rool

But, anyways, looks great to me! I'm actually considering getting a Raptor soon. prices continue to fall, and since I don't need it yet, I'm holding out. :D

Nice choice on the heatsink, I'm planning on getting the 800U (I want it to bolt on). I use an enermax adjustable fan (I adjust it on my own). I'm not sure how accurate a temp. controlled fan is, maybe find some reviews on em?

And, the XMS? I'm actually considering selling my 1 gig of PC3200LLPT TwinX (Corsair). If you want, I could let you know if I decide to sell them, if you're interested. I'm thinking about getting some other ram (the TwinMOS), cause the money I'd get back from that ram would be quite helpful in the long run. :)

I was looking at the 800u, but I don't like to have to remove the mobo to install or remove it.

I;m the type of person that always removes his mobo when installing a heatsink. So, I'm going bolted. I don't switch that often anyway. Not only that, the A7N8X (which should be shipping on Monday from an RMA) is a little limited with space around the socket, so its quite tough to get a heatsink in there without working at it. its just easier for me when the mobo's out.

But, both 800's are VERY good heatsinks, and the style of mounting all matters upon the person. I know KDC and SVC both have really good prices on ThermalRight's newest heatsinks, you might want to check them out (if you haven't already) :)
