Legacy free motherboards?
unless i can update my bios from a CD (which is probably possible?) then I'm keeping a floppy nearby.

I agree too they look ugly, but then again since you so seldom if ever need to use one, should be very easy to cloak
Make a flip up door from the 3.5 bay cover or something. Maybe make a logo cover that snaps into place in the drive slot. One of the problems I have with a couple cases is they have the drive slot cut into the front cover! Rather I install a floppie or not, the slot is there! Thinking about makng a cover to snap into the slot to hide it. Maybe a large pewter eagle in flight, then if I need to use the drive just pop it out.
I would just as soon get rid of the floppie too if I could, but alas, I cannot.
Also I still have some great stuff on floppie from the old days, 1991 BI. (before Ineternet
)
Someday I will copy all those floppies that still work to CD, then trash them. Just that floppies or Sooo sloooow and I have so many, I never take the time!
Anyone want to buy some orginal 720k floppies as collectables?
Buy the way, speaking of floppies and old! I am thinking about installing an old 5 1/4 flopie drive in a case modd. Just want to see how many people ask, what is that? Or maybe they will try to stick in a CD??
I still have several! I may start a museum someday, I have most the parts to build an XT and even an IBM Micro channel 386 or less.
Most people that see my 20meg drive think it is MASSIVE storage! Takes like 2 full 5 1/4 bays

Hell, I can more then live with a floppy connector. If I dont need it, disable it. I've been searching and have come to the conclusion that floppy disks probably arent going to die out for quite some time. Unless USB drives, or Compact FLash/Smart Media/etc become real mainstream and everyone replaces the floppy drive with a CF reader that is bootable (How sweet would that be?)

It has a floppy connection but you don't need to use it,I have one and I like it.Originally posted by DoPeY5007
yes! Very nice... but it still looks to have a floppy drive controller
The only gripe I have with the at-7 is that it's kinda funny about ram sometimes. Other than a reflash(I'll get around to it) it's a good board.
