router firewall

How can i disable the firewall on my router?? I can't connect to any ftp's or share files. My router is a d-link di-604. Please help me??

are you sure you just don't have the wrong MAC address ? or incorrect DNS ?

I have the right mack address it sets it automatically. I have that right kns info also. I have it set as dynamic ip address, as told by my ISP.

First, most router-in-a-box deals (such as your d-link) will not block outgoing connections, especially on common ports like ftp. So if you can't connect to a server it probably means you did something to it, in which case you ought to know how to undo it.

Second, did you try the manual? I usually don't like to say RTFM, but RTFM.

you need to know the IP of the router and the password.
Just open the IP in your browser....enter password and you can enable or disable the firewall from there.

IP is sometimes: 192.168.0.1 (atleast it is on the Netgears)

Modern routers shouldn't block anything having to do with FTP or P2P. Did you change any settings?

If so, try resetting the router (most routers have a recessed button somewhere that forces a reset - check your manual). Be aware that a reset will set the router back to the way it was from the factory. You'll have to configure again as if it was new.

You might also want to check D-Link's website to see if there's a BIOS update for the router.
