logitech z-560 4.1 speakers in house

Post by b-man1 »

i just got these babies a few days ago and have them mounted to the walls and blasting away. my impression of them is EXCELLENT. i have owned klipsch 4.1 and 5.1 systems...and these hold their own VERY well. i am a huge klipsch fan, but for the money, these CRUSH the klipsch in value/performance!

i got them for $128...crazy cheap for the quality and a 400W system. :D

if you don't have them...GET THEM. NOW. hehe.

DAMN 128! Where did you get them at? I just paid 148 with tax for mine. They showed up today and all i can say is WOW! This sub is very impressive. I got home seen the box sitting here grabbed it and about gave myself a hernia... The sub is not light at all... I only have the front 2 speakers hooked up still gotta figure out where to put the rear 2 at... But for the money these beat all... I've never had the Klipsch but i don't think i need to ever have a set of them...lol Now all i need is a FM tuner card and i can just use my PC for my home stereo entertainment :)

I don't know if it really makes a difference or not, but they recommend putting the striped side of the wire into the red caps (don't know what you call them). Just an FYI if you missed that.
I love mine too :)

JMan- good tip. i didn't know (and didn't read any included instructions, of course! :) )...but i guess the striped was for positive.

i got them for 128 via my AMEX blue card. i got them at best buy, and then pricematched them with some no-name online place that had them for cheap. hehe

How do the logitechs midranges compare to to the klipschs? I like the klipsch 4.1's but they seem to be lacking in the mid range department.

i would say the logitechs are a bit beneith the klipsch for mid/highs....bass is definitely their strongest selling point. i have the bass adjusted almost all the way down on the control tower and also in my sound card's settings...and there is still plenty to go around.

Bought them up here for about 150usd delivered to the house with taxes paid. That's pretty good up here and they sound great. I turn the bass down but the kids turn it up and that subwoofer is very impressive. I moved my altec 45.1's to the spare computer and I thought they were pretty good!

They really shine with dvd's, Pearl Harbour.........WOW! :D

Dittos on the z560s. I recently bought these. I had originally had two sets of Cambridge Soundworks PC Works speakers (2 subs and 4 spks total). I thought these sounded good.

After I read all the hype on the z560, I decided to get them ($140 plus tax and shipping).

After hooking them up and listening, all I can say is, "WOW". The sound these puppies put out is phenomenal. Needless to say I am very happy I got them.

$140 PLUS tax and shipping. Not including tax and shipping. I got them at Newegg. Looks like they're cheaper now there than when I got them.

Excellent deal none the less. Logitech is selling them for $200. Still a killer deal compared to everything else.

For me, it was definitely money well spent. They put a big smile on my face and make my ears very happy! :D

Sub to the Control Console. Control Console to Soundcard.

Sub has 4 sets of spring loaded connectors for speaker wires. Speakers have the knob with hole in it for speaker wire hookup. It comes with some chincy 20 gauge speaker wire I replaced with 16 gauge.

Control Console has volume, fade, bass, M3D (lit), Power (lit) buttons on it. It also has a headphone connector on it which will disconnect the speakers when headphones are plugged in. Nice feature.

You can read various reviews on it, they're all over the place, to get more info.

http://www.emscomputing.com has them for $144 shipped ($129 + $15 ground). Is this too good to be true? They have a 5.99 on ResellerRatings.com... Think I should buy from there? MWAVE also has them for a bit more, $150.72 shipped ($129 + $21.72 ground)

Let me know..
