GeForce 4 availability

Post by bluewhale »

My friend says he can't find any of the allegedly available GeForce4 cards for sale.( He says he can get a GeForce4 MX card now whatever that is ) I'd prefer ASUS but will look at most anything ( got the OK to rebuild my work system today>? )
Putting in an ASUS A7V266 MB, AMD 2000+ cpu and a Gig of DDR memory, but still have enough in the budget to get a really nice video card. Can settle for another V8200 card but like to ( when the rare chance presents itself ) try out new hardware as it comes out.

I've checked on CNET and can't see anybody selling these cards yet. ASUS said mass production would be in the channel by late Feb.... Has anybody actually seen a GeForce4 card for sale?

best buy should have a few tomarow or some time soon. Visiontek and one other company are the only 2 that have them out sofar. probably best bet is wait a week or 2 to get a few more options.

The GF4 MX cards are DX7 hardware ... you'd want the GF4 Ti cards which are the DX8 cards (GF3) on steroids.

That is the only GeForce 4 (non-MX) they have in. No Ti 4400s yet.
