Ok, I know that with paint you can convert bitmaps to jpegs. But I also know you can't do it right from the get-go (with Win98SE anyway). I installed something along the way which for some reason added that feature; since then I've reinstalled windows and now I can't think of what the hell it was.
I tried saving it as "xxx.jpg" but it just pops up as an "X" when I try to view it. Does anybody know what gives me the ability to save bitmaps as jpegs? Or know of an MS Paint "upgrade?" :lol This may sound strange, but it's true....
I would take a screenshot, but it would be a bitmap and those are hugh! haha...

OK, this takes a little explaining....SOME versions of Win98 (and some 98SE) have a different version of Paint that allows you to save/convert your BMP to JPG/GIF Files, but not all Loads include this version. Also, if you upgrade to ME you LOSE this option altogether (no going back). Somewhere on Microsoft's website, there is an update you can download that will allow you to do this, it was originally designed for win95, but since it is the same version of Paint, it should work, I would have given you a link, but I can't find it anymore. (Maybe MS wants you to buy 'Publish-It' or something like that to fo all your conversions. I have been using Adove PhotoDeluxe Home on my ME system to do that, but I miss the option in Paint.)
I know that isn't a ton of help, but good luck anyway!
