I have an issue with all my Win7 Media Center PCs that they don't sync their clocks to the Internet. I've scoured forums and tried everything. The service is running, the task is scheduled, Windows says it's done a sync on a certain date, and it doesn't work, and eventually their clocks all get a bit fast. This is a problem because I use them for recording TV programs. Every few months they drift more than a couple of minutes and I have to force a manual sync, WHICH DOES WORK.

I think this has to do with the fact that I setup all these PCs with just the updates they need to run Media Center and nothing else. I don't allow them to do Windows Updates. There must be some update that's missing (all these PCs were clean installs) that may have fixed this problem, but I can't figure out what it is, nor do I want to allow Windows Updates on them.

Finally out of frustration, I found an old time sync tool that was abandoned for a while, and then someone started supporting it again: TimeSyncTool. Works like a champ.

I threw the guy a donation for making my life easier.

If you have a PC that's not syncing it's clock properly, this is a good fix.

Dam, wish you had asked/mention your issue before. I would have told you about Tardis. I've used it in the past on older OS\Domains when Windows Time service was very limited.
