Best way to sort random folder of music

I was going through some old hard drives and found a bunch of music I collected between 1996-2010ish. A lot is off mIRC and Simba in the pre-Napster days, and the metadata is sketchy at best. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to best organize all this?
