Anyone ever find an app that LOCKS the Quick Launch Bar?

I find this SO damn annoying. You can lock the damn taskbar but it's absurdly easy to drag the Quick Launch Bar icons around accidently. I do it all the time (I'm a heavy Quick Launch user).

I want my icons to STAY in the same place.

Did a quick Google search and came up with nothing.

One of Windows more annoying little quirks... :mad

Did a search and came up with one:

but I think this one is related to the first link:

Thanks. Sounds awkward but there appears to be a setting to lock the Quick Launch bar. Might be a solution.

Nope, Folder Guard didn't work. Locks the taskbar, but you can still move Quick Launch icons around.

Damn, there has to be some way to do this. It's annoying as hell. Comparable to the problem 98 used to have when you'd accidently move the taskbar all the time. :(

I dont know of anything in windows that locks any icon. Even with the toolbars locked you can move icons around.

You might skip the quick launch and create a custom task bar. Point it to a dir with your shortcuts and make that dir and shortcuts read only. Worth a try. (or simply make your quick launch dir read only...but Im too lazy to find out where it is).

Tried that too. Doesn't work because the file positions are (I think) saved in the registry.

Your quick launch area is just a directory if you could make that read only to fix it I think he would have done that already. What if you find those registry keys and make mess with the permissions on them to make those read only?
