Any use in installing DirectX8?

Have you had good experiences with it? Would I benefit from installing it? I'm running DirectX7 right now, but am curious.

as FP would say , there isnt any point to it as there's hardly if any games and applications that require it right now , so basically if you dont need it right now why bother .
i'm no using it myself (win2k user) i have nothing that uses it and wont use it untill it's required.

Some really new games require it. Definitely use Ghost or backup Windows somehow if you do install DX8, as it hosed a bunch of my games when I installed it.

I have it installed and am not having any problems. I haven't noticed any change what so ever. I just did it for the heck of it really.
