Woohooo....finally signed up for Cable Modem access....getting it installed in 6 weeks....

So what operating system would you guys recommend????

I am currently running Windows ME cause I play a lot of games and would most probably start playing a lot of online games when I hooked up...

So is it worth switching to Win2k for better networking or sticking with Windows ME??? Please bare in mind I mainly use my rig for gaming...

Cheers..........

Not too much difference in terms of networking. NT will help with caching. But then again, win2k is good at everything, so why not?

I would buy a nice network card though. Try the tweeks from http://www.speedguide.net as well.

Might try it....

yeah..i had Win2k on my machine a while ago but at the time I only had 128mb of ram and the games ran just horrible under it...

Now I'm upto 320mb so they should run a lot better..

I've also got a Netgear Fa310TX 10/100 card so that should be ok for connecting to the Cable modem..

btw I've also since got a Geforce GTS 2 card since too...what does that run like under Win2k???

Thanks for the input...
