I am trying to add my toshiba satellite(1555cds) to my home network, I went
and purchased a PCMCIA card then when I was trying to install the driver for
the card I was hit with .dll requests and the need for my win 98 setup or
installation disc.unfortuntly I purchased this laptop used and it didn't
come with anything. So anyone have any ideas? I guess I could go out and buy
win 98 2nd Edition again and use that, but that seems redundant.

If it's a factory install then the cab files are all on the hard drive. Do a file search for a CABS folder on the drive. If I remember the path is c:\windows\options\cabs

When it asks for the 98 CD just browse to that folder.

If Windows was installed by a tech then the cabs might be in a folder called \win98. I usually put it in the root of the C drive. Most techs copy the whole 98 folder off the CD onto the hard drive and then run the installer from there. It goes smoother and leaves the cab files on the drive for the client.

Otherwise borrow a 98SE CD from someone. Not like you're violating any copyrights (assuming the guy who sold it to you used a legal copy - and that's hardly your problem if he didn't) you've already paid for the license and you can legally make a copy of the CD.
