While logged on as a power user, I installed a piece of software on Windows 2000 Professional.
However, when I log on as administrator or another user it isn't there. I then installed it while logged on as administrator, and now I have to log on as administrator in order to use it. How can I install it so that it can be accessed by all users?

uninstall it, as administrator, then reinstall it while NOT logged on as administrator, and welcome to PCA

All software should be installed as the Administrator. Some won't even install otherwise.

Try uninstalling it as the power user then re-install it as the administrator.

Did you install it under the actual administrator's account (user name administrator) or just an account with administrative privileges? Some software may only install for that one user unless you install it under the actual administrator user account.

Some software actually asks (while installing it from the admin account) whether you want it installed only for that account or all users.

as writen above (all Users) is a map under Documents and settings all the things like icons in that map are seen by anybody. for the most installs you'll need admin privileges and to run programs mostly head user privs..... all the things that are installed can be accesed by anyone if they are placed under the map all users (startmenu and Desktop)

If you're the only person who uses the PC (like not a company, at work PC) and you want everything as simple as possible, if you go into (normally) control panel/administrative tools/computer management/users and select the prefered user name (whatever or everyone listed), go into its properties and ADD "administrator" to that username and you'll then never have any hassles adding programs/software.
