Yes, the author of Open Shell is working on a Win11 version

Post by FlyingPenguin »

The author and several people are working on making it work with Win11, as well as find a way to get the classic style taskbar back with traditional notification icons, and an option for unstacked icons for open windows (which I prefer). Discussion here: https://github.com/Open-Shell/Open-Shel ... ssions/745

So I'm hopeful that by the time I'm forced to switch to Win11 in four years (likely with Microsoft holding a double barrel shotgun to my head), it'll be working. :)

It's totally doable right now, if a bit of a hack, using Open Shell, RetroBar and SimpleClassicTheme as demonstrated here:

"Turns out I’m 'woke.' All along, I thought I was just compassionate, kind, and good at history. "

Get over it old man, let go of that classic start menu :)

I believe in changes, so I'm not entirely against them, but I do hate when a developer doesn't give the user any options. Hopefully there will be a Power Toy to tweak/change it up for users.

Now with that said, there's one big change that many people I know are happy to see, some didn't even notice until I pointed it out. Those with very large/wide screens will be happy to see that the start menu is now centered and will reduce some neck strain :)
