Can you save a flash game to the hard drive?

Post by glassoftea »

I have found a flash game that I am simply addicted to, I would love to take it with me to places where I will have no internet connection, could I possibly save the game to my hard drive?

I was thinking maybe a program that saves entire websites to the HD, would that work? Anyone ever tried this?

If you're using IE then all you have to do is look in the Temporary Internet cache folder. Search for the most recent .SWF file (if you just played the game) and that will be it. You should be able to copy the file to any folder and double click it to run it. If it doesn't run then just associate .SWF files with IE.

I also ran into a program, when I was in my Swish2 days of boredom, that allows you to rip any flash from any site onto your computer in editable format, so that you can see how it was built and learn from it, etc. etc.
