I've been using that site for 2 years now. It's invaluable for troubleshooting startup issues on client's systems. Before I came across it I'd have to do Google searches through newsgroups.
Here's the direct link for their online database: http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php
Just type in the name of the starup app and VIOLA!
The database is updated EVERY WEEK. If you're an IT professional like me and use it a lot like I do, please donate to the author using Paypal. I send him $20 every few months. No other site is this extensive or up to date.
Another site I use if I come across an entry that's not listed in the above site is this one: http://www.azpchelp.com/ but the other site is better.

I've been using that site as well.. it's a great resource. In addition to that, I've been using Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel applet and StartupMonitor. (http://www.mlin.net/) The Startup CPL is a very nice replacement for msconfig, but the really great thing is the Startup Monitor as it is proactive in preventing stuff from getting added to the system startup.
StartupMonitor is a small utility that runs transparently (it doesn't even use a tray icon) and notifies you when any program registers itself to run at system startup. It prevents those utterly useless tray applications from registering themselves behind your back, and it acts as a security tool against trojans like BackOrifice or Netbus.
StartupMonitor does not require Startup Control Panel, but it complements it nicely. When you choose not to allow a program to register itself, the program's entry becomes disabled in Startup Control Panel, so you can go back and enable it later if necessary. StartupMonitor watches the Start Menu's Startup folders and the Run entries in the registry.
