ntoskrnl problems

Post by parkster909 »

whenever i try to replace the original ntoskrnl with a modified one, Windows automatically replaces it with the original. It didnt used to do that before -- just recently started. I have even installed the original version of windows xp pro and have not updated it at all, but it still does it. how do i keep windows from restoring the original file?

Isn't that the splash screen file for when Windows is loading? If it is I believe you have to delete and load your new file in safe mode. It has been a while since I have messed with that so my memory may be some what rusty. The new file has to have the same exact name as the old one also.
