Mobo suggestions please
Here is the deal guys. I have a P3 650 slot 1 cpu. I currently have it running on a Via chipset Asus P3V4X mobo. I dislike this mobo in a big way, as it is always giving me problems with the 4in1's and DMA. That said, I would like to get rid of it. What mobo would be a good choice for me to get that would still enable me to run the chip at 950 Mhz?
In time, you too will understand what I do.

Are you sure the P3V4X is your problem? I have been running one for over a year with little to no problems. I had a 600@900 and now a 750@1000. I have used 4.24, 4.28, 4.31 via 4 in 1 drivers and not had any problems with any of them. The only problem I have had is trying to cold boot when I have the vcore set to 1.90 it doesn't like doing that fro some reason. I guess I am just curious because this is the first time I have heard anything bad about this board.

i had a system i bought with a via mobo - had a lot of problems - hunted around for a good ol bx and found the msi 6163 pro at zones.com for 48 shipped - this is what i have in my main system running a p3/800 @ 942 - had it up to 996
rock solid mobo add an ata 66 controller for 8 drives - my other one has had 0 issues in 2 years
i just put the system together tonight - old katmai 600, 10 gig wd, tnt2ultra, monster sound1, pos winmoden, 3com nic, all installed and are running the first time around
and of course had to add folding to test system stability!
seriously the 6163 is a verfy good mobo and worth a look
