NEVERMIND!! :) KK266 Bus speeds!

Nevermind, solved the problem. Uninstalled that lying sumbitch Sandra. New Sandra version in 98 shows the correct speeds.
Someone please tell me what I'm missing on this mobo. I set the jumper for FSB to 133 as I just installed an AXIA 266 fsbus cpu and now my PCI and AGP buses seem not to have changed dividers, running 44 & 88. What am I overlooking??? Could an attempt at the pencil trick have caused this? HELP! It's probably something I'm overlooking, but Sandra is reporting these bus-speeds and it's scarey.

I have no experience with this board so it is just a shot in the dark but is there a option in the bios to set the divider?

By the way, I was going to get adventurous and use the pencil to unlock this cpu. Reckon I failed. I can't see worth a hoot. What's easier to use than the pencil? What is the Loctite people talk about? I know it can't be your regular stuff as it isn't conductive.

go buy a cheap magnifying glass, and use the defogger kit, and apply it with a toothpick or needle.

the loctite is rear window defogger paint repair paint - get it at autozone or wherever
get a magnifying glass or a jewelers loop, dip a saftety pin in the goop and just touch between the bridges - i have lousy eyes too, but it can be done - you can always scrape any excess later when it is dry with th epoint of a clean safety pin

Okay, thanks. I'll have to locate some of that stuff as I just can't get the pencil to work for me. That seems a better solution anyway.
This is an AXIA and the first letter of that bottom sequence is K.
And also, I WAS using a large magnifying glass, flashlight, near and open window, and everything else I could think of to get more light. I used to be able to see the paper fall as a gnat wiped its butt at 500 yards. Used to........

undy, if you foul it up, alcohol ( not in YOU!) will wipe the cpu clean, and you can start over with the paint trick.

OK I have some gripes about this board.
1. Mine came with Only a standuard green heatsink on the north bridge. Thats pathetic...and to make matters worse there was No compound under it.
2. the compasitors are to far out on the top of the board making it imposable 2 use more then 2 of the 5 1/4 bays in a standuard midtower.
3. manual does not match board markings.
4. wh yeve nhave a jumper for 100 and 133...cant that be in the BIOS?
5. The Bios in general...Lousy.
there were a few other things...but have been bussy trying to get the networking again and forgot them.

Do your homework sonny at the KK266 FAQ. There are prolly more custom BIOS's for this board than any other mobo.

You can find better layouts in Playboy or Penthouse. Why is it that both my bottom two 5.25 bays have stuff in them ( Toshiba DVDrom and Plex 12/10/32 cdrw) without any probs? I think it's your funky case. :lol
