Hey guys, i finally oc'd ma 750 mhz t-bird !!!> After like 6 monhts. i've finally got it to werk. pretty sad huh. just good ol pencil trick. B lead.. not H (<-- that means MORE Clay) i thought it wuz the other way around so that's why it didn't werk....
Anyhow. I'm wondering about fans. for the HSF of your processor. is the fan suppose to be sucking IN air onto the heatsink
or the opposite way
How do the fins on a fan tell which direction the air flows...or i can just test it..but then.. aiya!
So far i have it at 860 mhz my t-bird. gonan go higher..
Btw, How far can fsb of a kt7 mobo go usually?

The direction of airflow depends on the HS ya got. Generally, if it is shrouded it should suck. If it has no shroud it should blow onto the HS
Try it both ways to see which works best for you.

It usually depends on the way your heatsink was made but I find it with most of the heatsinks that I've tried that pulling air away from the heatsink had better results. Of course your resultss may differ because of the way your case is built as well.
I'm not exactly sure how high the fsb can go but I've heard it had problems past 124.

what do u mean by "shroud"
i c. so some heatsinks are designed different.
the stock fan of amd i thnk sucks air and cools the heatsink
as oppose to sucking air from the heatsink and dissapating it in to the air
that wuz my original thought on how it werked since that would be ...seem to be most efficient.

Alpha heatsinks usually have a shroud, they are designed to have the fan exhaust.

i think i know waht u mean by shroud
like if u look top down onto a heatsink/fan
and u see the fins of the fan are facing down intot he heatsink. it forms a shroud. and so the air is sucked into the heatsink?
or... id ont' know. heh

the shroud is a thin-wall metal box that surrounds the heatsink, this maximizes the air pressure being pulled over the fins and thus, maximizes cooling potential. Alphas were the cooling champs for a long time, and still can get the job done, but were expensive. There are several better ones out there now.

if the fins of a fan...well it werks like a airplane wing
air travells slower around a curved area convexing against the air flow
but if it's concaving.. the air can travel faster?...
i dotn' know what i'm talkina bout.
