I'm gonna try to build a new 'super' computer for when i go off to college. a damn c366 wont cut it over there... hehehe

anyway, im looking to spend around 80 bucks on the case w/powersupply. looks are somewhat trivial (can't be butt-ass ugly tho). however, it does need excellent functionality and also be very quiet.

any suggestions? I was checkin out one of the fong kai boxes... pretty nifty.

lmk!

Go for an Antec SX830 or Sx1030 these cases are very well made come wit6h 2 case fans and places for two more. They also have a good 300 watt power supply or can be had with a 400 wattp/s They sell for $100 or less and you would be hard pressed to do better for double that. I have the SX830 with an overclocked P3 and a Geforce 2 I added the two extra fans and my case temp stays the same as the temp in the room you can't get any better than that.

Any case I buy in the future better have a rear 80mm fan port near the cpu or else I'll pass. Enlight makes a nice mid-tower that does. Model # 7237. I just built a system for guy using one. Pretty nice case. Very intelligent layout.

Personally, I love the InWin Q500 full tower. The sliding maniboard tray makes it easy to upgrade the baord and with the PITA clips on the socket HS/fans, it's easier to install with the mainboard out.
Plenty of fan spots, my case stays 3-5C over ambient(room ) temp.

I second the Addtronics idea. I am using an addtronics 7896a and I love it.

Hey dude!!!
You are lucky, I am trying to sell my casemod...
It is a midi-tower (with a backward 80mm port) and a 300W ATX PSU.. It should fit your needs, so if you're interested, let me know...The email address I check most frequently is bas_vortex@hotmail.com...
Check the Case out at http://www.casemod.thx.to, it is currently the only featured project, so you should have no trouble finding it....

I've got an addtronics 7896 also. Talk to jim of http://www.coolcases.com for one; that's who I used to buy it. He'll even do a couple simple mods for ya for better ventilation.

make sure it has good air flow if you plan to OC much or run a hot AMD setup .
