ok, he has a blue core 900 processor will post at like 1200 but wont be stable at anything over 900! what gives i believe he has the fancy asus mobo k7v?

Yeah Reg I'd possibly either switch out the Asus for an Abit or an MSI board. My .02 centavos.

What kind of cooling does he have on it? I once had an A7V and had NO luck overclocking on it. Most recently I had a 1200 T-Bird on an AD-11 that ran stably at 1333.

try to lower the voltage to around 1.6, believe or not, some bird actually like low voltage, friend of mine got his 1ghz to 1.2ghz by lowering the voltage.

If my previous sugestion doesn't work, try this: slap 13 pentium 4 sticker on the case, sacrefice a chicken, and chant the phrase "shitzen AMD, pentium 4 and rumbus forever!!" to apeace the appease the Intel gods. :D
