DDR can work faster than CPU???

DDR can work faster than CPU???

hello all!
my system is a s follows
AMD ATHLON XP 2500+
epox 8k9a7i (mobo)socket A
DDR400 512mb (pc3200)

now...why when the system boots do i see 'CPU:FSB 333MHz'+'DDR400 @ 200MHz' ??

is that correct??

Because the DDR specifies Double Data Rate. Therefor 200mhz really works at 400mhz(double 200mhz)

1.5gb PC4200 Ram

You are running in async mode. That means your CPU FSB and memory speed are not in sync. Your memory is running at 200mhz x2 (DDR) and the CPU is at 166x2 (333). I would suggest running in sync mode. Just my $.02.
