looking to buy a 64-bit system

so, my motherboard caught fire this past monday (for the second time in my life!!, some of you may remember when the same thing happened a few years back). Anyway, I'm wanting to upgrade to an AMD 64-bit processor now. I'm not sure what sort of mobo to get.

I know many of you are already running 64-bit systems, and I was reading things about how (a while ago at least), how AMD motherboards had trouble using 2-sided DIMMS, and things of this sort. Do you have any suggestions on what sorts of motherboards I should look into? And, because I plan to buy new RAM (my current RAM, being generic, has given me many problems), should I be looking into getting single sided DIMMS, or has that problem been resolved with current AMD setups?

Any help, advice, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

I just built a rig without a DFI UT350 and a retail 3200/fan

mobo is supposed to be very stable high overclocker

mobo has lots of bells and whistles 6.1 sound, 1394, gigalan etc
no set up issues and seems very stable

i have run front side bus up to 225 w/e a problem

using kingston hyper x

don't know about about the single/double sided memory thing
