Linux has silent controversy

Go to nVidia.com and you may download the latest drivers for your product for many major operating systems including Linux.

Unfortunatly, Creative doesn't take Linux as seriously. They do not have a Linux-based driver for any of their products and yet they support four versions of Mac, IBM OS/2, and DOS.

For Linux users, there is a third party project at SourceForge.com called Emu10k1, and then, there's the ALSA Project. But don't expect any help from Creative Labs.

Everyone knows Creative's drivers and software sucks. Therefore, why would we expect any kind of linux support?

I have used Creative sound cards for years. I haven't had any problems with Creative software or drivers. Currently I have an Audigy 2 and it is a hell of a lot better than any onboard crap. I wish they would make a top quality board without onboard sound.

Sound cards should be manufactured with 1/4" jacks and shipped with 1/8" adapters. Would make it much easier for people like me, who feed all their computers' sound to one sound mixer, and then to a stereo.
