I'm looking for a sound card that has digital out (coaxal, optical) that is cheaper than the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum. Does anyone know of one? Thanks.

Turtle Beach just came out with a new one, called the Catelina I think. Should be nice, but haven't seen it advertised anywhere yet or reviewed. Check out their web site for info, but I think it had both optical in and out on it. I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for info, myself.

Maybe that is the you are talking about. Seems nice but I really would like digital coax out. I will have to check if my speakers have optical or not.

The M-Audio Revolution 7.1 has digital coaxial out.

I just found out that my speakers will have optical in, and my NF7 has optical out, so it looks like i'll be set. I'll see how it works out. Maybe i'll upgrade just for speed and quality. To note, the NF7-S has optical out and the sound FPS is much higher than the M-audi revolution 7.1. Revolution = $100, NF7-S = $100. If you have an AMD CPU, just getting a NF7-S would be better IMHO.

Well the analog out on the M-Audio Revo is far superior to any integrated chipset, but If all you need is optical (digital) out then you should be all set.
