T-bird 800 will only do 100x9.5 1.8V.Tried every config I could think of to get 1Ghz out of this OEM chip.Cant complain too much getting a free 150Mhz by using a pencil though.

Alpha PAL6035 w/Delta 38cfm(Ultra kit from 2CoolTek).I dont think it's a heat issue but rather just limitations of the chip.At 950Mhz its temp at idle reads 31'C and after playing Q3 for about 30 minutes it reads 38'C.Side panel of my case off BTW.

What's the big deal? I got an 800 and like yours it's a bit of a dog for OCing. Only makes 950. the nice thing tho, is that it still out benches a P3 700 @ 1 gig that I had. Add in the fact that I got it for dirt cheap, I love the darn thing ! If you can tell the difference between 950 and 1 gig you're a better man than I.

When you get to those speeds, there is really very little difference.
I have a 1.1gig T-Bird that runs at 12x103. It looks cool at boot up, but I really can't say I notice any great speed difference.

I'm not upset for real.Just so close to 1Ghz but not close enough kinda thing.I love my setup right now.I dont think I will ever go back to Intel for my main system anytime in the near future.

Me either, I have always owned Intel systems in the past, but the price is absurd on Intel products.

Syn wants to do the Gigahertz dance.
Intel is cutting prices on January 28th. Even after doing so their cpus will still be overpriced compared to AMD.
