i am using a thermalright ax-7 on my 1800
no problems here

other than that, I havent tried many other HSFs. I have used a TT volcano 6 and 7, and a globalwin tak68 i believe it was (the dual fan one)

out of those.....I still think the ax7 was the best. THe volcano 7 was good but i didnt like how it was so damn big with only the one prong

I'm getting an SLK800 ( thermalright) for my new Barton 2500/ Abit NF7-S combo. Using a mechatronix 80mm fan with it. ;)

Good choice. ;)

Haven't done much testing thanks to my hard drive troubles, but it looks like the aero 7+ should be called the aero 7-. The first aero 7 had a much faster fan and it was closer to the sink, the 7+ has a sheath extending the fan further away, and a slower fan. And the performance is less, naturally.

I thought about getting an Aero 7 but I had an SLK-800 before and they do the job. I ordered on Saturday and it was shipped out today. :)

SLK 900U is the way to go....

On my Athlon XP 1700+ JIUHB (from SVC.com), I'm using the SLK 900U with the Epox EP-8RDA+ mainboard. There aren't too many boards that can use the 900U, since it bolts don't real tight. My fan is the Coolermaster Aero Blower Fan (AAB-L81-ET; 1900 RPM), which I picked up at casecooler ( http://www.casecooler.com ) for only $7.95. You can attach the fan using those wire clips in creative ways. It looks real nice, and cools the CPU just fine. I have it overclocked to just over 2 GHz, with a 43C temperature at idle (using Motherboard Monitor). I get up to 46 or 47C playing hard...
