I just hope its anything bu the processor. Cause this is the 0248 stepping, kick ass stuff. The previous owner has it running at 1.9v (he had water cooling, said it never got above 40C). Thankfully, I have more ram, another video card to try, and, if need be, another processor. I don't really want to try a different processor though, but I may have to. I have all the parts from my last system, which is nice.
here's what I posed at the AMDMB forums, since they seem to have lots of A7N8X Deluxe users:
Anyways, I decided to have some fun with my 2100+ on my A7N8X Deluxe (rev 2) last night. I have 1 GB total of Corsair PC3200 TwinX (2x 512MB sticks). The very odd thing is, I tried 225*9.5 before 221*7. Of course, it didn't boot when at 225*9.5. So, after I shut it off and turned it back on, it booted at 100*13, which is its default. The settings were still in the CMOS (which is normal). So, I tried 221*7. No go. Didn't work, so I'll try somethin else. Now it won't boot. I followed the directions in the manual to reset the CMOS (take out bettery (after unplugging), move jumper, wait a few minutes, move jumper back and replace bettery), still no go.
Here are my exact specs:
I flashed from BIOS 1003 to 1004 last night, before I oc'ed.
AMD Athlon 2100+ (133*13 by default)
ThermalRight AX7 w/ Enermax Adjustable 80mm Fan (at max - temps around 95-100*F) (used AS3)
Asus A7N8X Deluxe (Rev2)
Corsair XMS TwinX 1GB PC3200 Low Latency Platinum (2x 512MB)
Retail Radeon 8500 64MB (default speeds and agp voltage)
USB and Game Port Connected
SATA DISABLED
I put ASII under my NB Heatsink
I'm not sure what else would be needed. I have my HDD unhooked, cause I don't want it spinning up soo many times.
Now, what I plan on doing when I get home is to take out of ram, first, and replace it with one stick of my Crucial PC2100 (256MB). If that doesn't do anything, I put my ram back in, and try a GeForce 2 MX, instead of my Radeon. If that doesn't work, I'll try both the ram and the GF2 MX together. If that doesn't work...well, something better work.. :-\

:
Right now, as we speak, my computer is sitting at home, unplugged and without a CMOS battery. The CMOS jumper is set on 2-3 as well, so the CMOS SHOULD BE CLEARED. I mean, why wouldn't it? 8 hours without a CMOS battery should empty the CMOS.
One other idea. Could this have something to do with the updated BIOS? I wouldn't think so, as I have rev2 and 1004 ran fine. (the fsb options also go up past 270). The board itself says Rev 2.00 near the name. It booted to windows numbers of times on the 1004 bios, it just won't post now.
If there is anything else I may have missed, let me know. I can send pictures too, but i don't think that would do anyone any good.
Thanks for the help and reading my very long post!
Yeah, I know, it's long. But, I think it covers a lot.
Blade, seating, that's something I didn't even think about. I'll be doing a lot as soon as I get home today. I just hope its something simple. Anything but the processor. Ram can be RMA'd, as well as my video card, and, if I have to, my motherboard. Processor is just something that I don't really wanna lose. :-\
I'll keep you guys posted. But, this just doesn't make any sense, that's why I'm thinkin it may be my video card. Maybe that really bad fan caused some problems. SOmething I noticed about that was that when the computer is first turned on, the fan wobbles. But after about 20min to 45 min is becomes stable (I think it still makes more noise than usual).
Anyways, we'll see..
Here's the thread over at AMDMB:
