Unlocking? Worth it?

How do I, if I can, unlock my XP1800+? And what would I benefit from doing so as far as multipliers? Right now I'm at 11.5x143@1.64ghz.. I don't know if I can/how to change the multiplier on my K7S5A. But It would seem better to change the multiplier up vs. the FSB.. No? Seems like you get more bang for the FSB.. Because 13x133=1.729ghz which is already higher than what I'm running now. So 13x143=1.859ghz.. Just seems to be a better way to hit the speed w/o having to worry about temps. I run at about 105*F right now with stock cooling.. Should I just invest in a better cooler for this processor and up the FSB w/some PC2100? Just some thoughts.. Any/All help is appreciated.. eGo

1.) just because you can run 11.5x143 doesn't mean you can run 13x143

2.) just increasing hte clock rate barely makes the temperatures go up (assuming you have decent cooling). the temperatures start soaring once you raise the vcore

3.) i can almost garranty that you won't get anywhere near 13x133 on a default vcore... it might boot at closed to that (if you are lucky) but you won't get into windows... if you do it'll lock-up pretty fast.

4.) unlocking is harder than it looks... i unlocked mine and after playing with it, it looked like it was burning out (booted at a 12x133 and then slowly it worked its way down to only booting at 6.5x133, and then not booting at all. after that i wiped the stuff of the L1s and reset the CMOS and it works fine, but i'm probably just going to get a KT400 board and use my 2400+ tbred (this CPU i tried to unlock was an AMD Athlon XP 1600+ AGOIA)
