its been so hard to find a pentium 3 cpu around 800mhz slot 1, that does not cost 125 dollars, i was planning to buy slockets and to p 3 800mhz fcpga socket 370 since it would be little bit cheaper.

thanks

David

would something like this do the job????

More to do with what type of cpu your using , that particular slotket works for both ppga and fcpga cpu's and will work on all motherboards that support the fsb/multiplier of the cpu your using.

Here is a closeup of the same adapter with the info visable.

Be wary of the no-name adaptors unless you can try them first.

I've had asus, abit & msi slotkits which all worked for me in several different brands of motherboards but they're hard to find and overpriced now as lots of people want what you want.

There are ppga adaptors as well as fc-pga adaptors so also make sure you know which is which. Ensure they say 133 or have that selection. Many of the cheap ones dont have voltage adjustments.

Ebay is a source but expensive. Other than that, keep your eyes open on the boards and be patient.

I am using a MSI master slocket to trick a very old BX board to run a celeron 950 thruough voltage adjustment jumpers which the slocket you are looking at appears to lack, but like the others said if your mobo says it will support a P3 800 then that slocket should work for anything you want to put in it with a coppermine core.
