This is the 1st system I have built from the ground up. So far …so good, everything
works well and it’s really fast
Soyo kt-400 mobo
AMD 2000+ CPU
Thermaltake volcano 9 cooler running @ 4000 rpm
Ati 9700 video
512 MB 3200 ddr ram
2 WD 80 MB special edition drives in a striped array

My question is this. In the bios there are 2 teps one is the core temp and the other is the
die(?), the core temp is 50c die is 38c. When I loaded soyo’s monitor software it says the
temp is 38c.

Are these temps normal? And witch one should I look at the most?

Thanks for your help

I would have to say that the die temp is most likely being picked up by the sensor under the processor on the motherboard and the core temp is being taken by the processor chip diode.
