WinXP Pro boot time

Post by NascarFool »

Well, I tried the unlock method on my XP2200+ from another site that said all ya had to do was connect the 5th bridge on L3. That put the XP2200+ at 5.5x only. What a joke. I cleaned it all off and now it takes 10 to 15 minutes to boot up. Once it boots up, it runs normal. Benchmarks are normal and so is the CPU temp. I tried the repair console using fixmbr, chkdsk and fixboot but it didn't make any difference. What next other than reinstalling XP ? ?

Specs:
Epox 8K3A+
XP2200+
2x256megPC2100 Crucial
400w PS
40gig WD
30gig WD
10gig WD
16x DVD
40x Plextor cdrw
SB Live
Radeon 8500 retail
NetGearNIC

*EDIT*
I am frustrated and posted this in the wrong forum. I guess I need to be Tarred and feathered for this boo boo. :D
**EDIT# 2**
Boy do I feel stupid. The 30 gig drive was partially unolugged. Back to normal boot times now.

**EDIT #3**
Well, it started doing it again. :(
