Is it possible to have so much ram that you wouldn't need virtual memory enabled on you harddrive while playing games ??

If so then how much ram would I need ? If not then..oh well, hehe

It would work, but some applications will plain refuse to work without a swap/pagefile.
The best approach to virtual memory is a set size, like 300MB min/max, this way you prevent additional fragmentation from changing swapfile size.
I suggest around 256-384MB for Win9x or 384-512MB (or more :D ) for Win2000/XP. This should keep most games in RAM only.

Darn, hehe. I was gonna go out and buy 4 sticks of 512MB DDR ram. Oh well, at least it's cheaper.

Don't think Winblows would like to have no room to move its extra Furniture into......
I know Mr Gates carries a lot of baggage, but damn it, that swap file is huge some times, even with my 512 mb CAS 2 PC133 to put his Sofa bed on!!!!!

why did he come to stay?
