XP333-R raid ports
Has anyone installed and used the raid ports as IDE ports only ?
not me. I'm using a PCI card RAID controller ( Hpt370). What I would recommend doing tho is setting up your rig on the regular IDE channels first and then enabling the o/b RAID controller and then transfer your HDD over to that. That method worked for me on the KK266R mobos. Just remember to set the BIOS to boot from SCSI before HDD-0 when you swap it over. You're not talking about putting optical devices on the RAID are you? If so, forget it. You can't do that.

Ok, I got the raid ports working. Primary Raid port : WD 10 gig ATA66 Master, WD 30gig ATA66 Slave
(not using RAID at this time) I left the DVD and CDRW on the Secondary IDE that they were already on. Went into the bios and set first boot device "scsi". Save and exit. Comp boots up and no DVD or CDRW to be found in Windows. I shut down and moved the DVD and CDRW to the Primary IDE where the hard drives were before and got the same results. The IDE ports, DVD and CDRW are shown in the device manager but not in Windows. What am I doing wrong ?
