Dead 'bird

It don't look dead to me. No bad smell and no burn marks. Newegg told me to send it back along with the mobo.

Does it even boot? I only ask because I thought I fried one when I forgot to turn on my water pump. It would boot into windows, but then everything and anything would lock up with the first mouse click.

I figured I fried it, bought another and put the old one to one side. Three months later I take it out to see if a new waterblock mount could crush it. It didn't crush, it booted and ran fine. I ran it for two weeks w/no probs and ran Prime etc. and it is as good as new. (I don't understand why).

I had it on an Asus A7M266 rev. 1.05 and it would run at 10x100 only. At 10x133 it would dump Illegal Operations. It worked fine on my A7A266 at 10x133. When I put it back on the A7M, it died. The board won't run at 2x133 FSB. Sent it all back for warranty replacement.

That does suk but at least you are dealing with Newegg, all should be ok within a week or so. I'm sure they'll send you good replacements.

Good close-up pic btw. :)
