Ok. I am (finally) going to up my FBS a bit on my PIII-500 (to 112). Was just in the BIOS and noticed the core voltage was already set at 2v (I bought the mobo from a ocer on these boards). Plucky here told me that is a bit above the default core of 1.65v. So, should I take the core voltage down some before upping the FBS?
The CPU has been running at this higher core for a year with no problems.

might as well jsut leave it and bump the fsb. later you can lower it if it is stable and enjoy the cooler faster running system.

that is pretty high - about 1.8 is more normal for oc - what you need to watch is the heat - you should be runnung ~ 38 under load

Maybe it's an old Katmai P3-500, those run at 2.0v default.

Indeed, that is the case--the 2v is default. I couldn't get it to post with a fbs of 112

How high can I bump the core to try and get this thing to post at 112 fbs?

2.3v's with the old P3's Cel's or P2's is about the highest you would want to go with it.
