I think I have found a way to suspend a high output fan directly over my heatsink, say a high output 120 mm 100 + cfm fan. The heat sink would be mounted bare, than the fan would be suspended a few inches above the h/s, slightly offset to allow the majority of air flow to impact it. I may even be able to eliminate my 2 80's that are mounted on the side of the tower case. This would be with an SK6 copper cooler. Anyone have any comments as to why this would or would not work?

thanks,

it would Probably work better if U had some thign like one of the Ducts that plycon sells....just shove all the air threw it.

it wil lbe a tough call cause most of the time all these mods do is reduse noise not cool better.

Might I sugest this:

Mont it on the side panel of your case sucking in Fresh outside air and vlowing in the entire system Not directed at the CPU and havign a slower quiter fan on the hetasink.

that has seemed the best for me so far for Noise and cooling.
