Ever touch the the back of the Mboard behind the cpu? OUCH! I took out theMboard and did some measuring where the cpu sat and Cut out a 60mm square in the Mboard Tray and then a 60mm hole in the side of the case. Attached a 60mm Y's tech blowing In onto the back of the socket. I had No idea I would get such a Drop in the temps. Under full load it dropped from 49C to 42C. Talk about awsome! Very quiet and an easy mod. everyone should do it.

no that one is next. this one was My pc....which was stupid...you should always Practice one a backup and I Really should have. Doh well.
Granted these temps are based of a thermal probe Under the cpu but any cooling is good cooling I say.

This has been discovered before,
lookie here .
But overclockers did dig deeper than just the plain fact as can be seen
here and
here .
I think this one really hits the point:
Use the in-socket thermistor as your fire alarm - don't expect much more than that.
There are more articles about the inaccurate and rather unreliable readings of the onboard temp-probe ... it's a sad thing that AMD had no in-CPU-temp reading like the PIII (now included in Palomino's, erh, Athlon 4's). The only reliable source for temp-reading is a probe directly at the core ...
I do use my in-socket thermistor with MBM 5 , set at 50C to forced shutdown.
Welp, I wouldn't say it won't help but I can't say it helps a lot ...

Eithor way this is Cooling Something....be it the Air behnd the cpu, the socket its self, the back of the cpu o what ever...It is COOLING something that is Normally Really hot....I call it a sucess.
+ I dont remember saying i Discovered it...I said I did it.
