ok I cut the 80mm hole across from my CPU. now would it be better for the CPU to have an extention pipe and suck fresh air IN? or would it be better to ahve an 80mm case fan there blowing in?

I was thinking the First origionally cause the only thing that seems to get hot in my case is the heatsink off the cpu.

those are the only 2 options I am looking at. thanks for your Imput.

I think the fan would pull more air into the case, then just a hole with a tube directing fresh air onto the heat sink fan. Also, lining up the tube would be tricky upon removing and replacing the side of the case if you wanted to get it really close to the heatsink fan. That depends though on how your case comes apart. If the tube was even an inch away from the heat sink fan, it would probably be pulling a lot of air from around the tube, inside the case. Or were you planning on installing the tube into the hole after the side was attatched and pushing it up against the fan? Now that might work OK. What we won't do for a few cubic feet of coolness

well I fed that up. the measurement was off so now it Has to be a case fan.

well I moded My main system today as well and it turned out really good I think. have a window and then cut a 120mm hole in it and attached a fan. Looks really good. I am getting lighting in early next week so that should really trick it out...at least for my cutting tallents

I need to get a camera. I just painted the bezel of an Antec Sx830. It's red, and very shiny. Now I need for it to set for a day or two, then I can start on the side panels. I'm still debating on the inside color, or of I would paint it at all. I think I have it down to yellow, the blue color of the thermaltake heatspreaders, or textured black. decisions, decisions, decisions.

i think you should put the filter on the other side of the fan, and have a nice looking grill, one of those new custom looking grills, on the outside and paint it if you like

putting the filter on the inside lets the fan get all dusty. and I think Ill keep my $20 instead of spending it on a custom grill.

this was the best window i found at the price. all the others were really over priced and for never doing this b4 I figgured get a kit.

i had a card cooler there b4 inside the case and it really helped cool the case so I didnt want to sacrifise cooling so I went with a larger fan. I had a few other ideas but Ill play with them on another system maby.

Who makes the window kit ? I always thought you could just go buy a piece of plexiglass to the size you need, and get the edging as well.

i got it at plycon....yea you can. but you have to cut the hole larger then the window so the molding fits properly and a bunch of other stuff. now that I have done it i probably wont buy a kit again but then again i might.

I've got a blowhole in mine in the same spot, (without the window though).
Instead of the aluminum mesh, I put this one It's a little easier to take off and clean.


Ian also has those window kits in rectangle and circle

He sells just the gasket too

I like the metal mesh one cause it is just like a drier thingy. just whipe the dust off.
