What's a good CPU Torture Test?

This more I play with this 750e the more I get confused. It ran at 1Gig for 2 months with no problems. Now it locks over 900Mhz. So I throw it into another system and it seems fine. So I thought there was a pc issue instead of the cpu. So I throw a 600e@800 in there(same 133fsb) and it seems fine. This makes no sense. How can one cpu run at 133 but not another? But they both run at 133 in another pc, almost exact same components...MSI 6162 Pro, V3/V5 all PC133 RAM.

I need some sort of serious torture test to figure out what is going on.

And can a cpu loose is ability to overclock?

Oh, and what the heck is Spread Spectrum in the BIOS? There is 2 settings at 133. One on and one off. Which is better?

the new sandra 2001 has a torture test... or burnin wizard?

also... i've got one at home that specifically tests for stability... email me and i'll send it to you when i get hom in another 4hrs

you can do the sandra 2001 burnin loop, wintune in a loop, 3dmark2k, that rc5 program, game demos in a loop - anything that repteadly stresses

UT is harder on cpu's then q3. and from what I understand ONI is even tougher!

I do seti and UT usually or if it is over nite seti and 3dmark at its highest settings. it will be choppy but tortures Everything.

Thanks for the tips and programs guys. I did let that Sandra Burn In Wizard run for about 12 hours without failure. I'm actually starting to believe it's a bad NIC or something. I can create a LAN game of CS with no problem, but as soon as I join an internet game it locks. I'm going to have to start taking out hardware and see what happens.

I don't have any server in particular I goto all the time. Just hop on GameSpy and find a good map with good pings. I'll have to join the one you mentioned(maybe tonight) and check it out. They use FF in there? I love having that option on.

Yeppers sorry on the game server guys, I am definitely running behind on everything, but I am going to work on it Saturday morning and hope to have it functional by afternoon, if everything goes smoothly I could have it up and online possibly Monday evening. It will be on a T1 speed cable line and will contain a 750 Tbird, 256 meg o'ram, 15 gig IDE 7200 rpm Maxtor hdd, 32x CDrom, floppy and everything else it needs to do the job. It will be located about 35 miles distant from me and I need to lock it down fairly well so to add mods and what not I will possibly need to be seated at it personally, I have not decided fully on the security for it but I am a security overkill kinda guy and this is a necessity as it will be grouped with several business servers.

hammer, I can shoot you a copy of PCAnywhere if you want. That will allow you to have complete control over the pc as if you were infront of it.

Not sure if that's cool since it's with the business servers and all...just on offer if you want it.
