Ok. Here how it goes. I bought a dvd-rw, plug it into a usb box and use it on my friends computer. Later come home connect it on my computer. First time boots goes into windows normally and after 1-2 minutes the screen goes to no signal. Turn off check the plugs and then back on. The computer boots up to the welcome screen and freezes. Reset the computer, the computer won`t boot up. All the case fans (5) the cpu fan(volcano 7+) and the graphics card fan working, But no signal nothing. Tried removing everything and putting everything one by one (each time turning on the computer to see if it works),no result. The mobo got burned. Already ordered the asus p4c800e-deluxe but before i proceed installing my dvd-rw i need to know if by any chance it is my dvd-rw that burned the mobo. I know that i said too much but i hope you can help me.

How do you know it's the MB? it could be a rail on the PS as well. Most computer systems come with a very cheap power supply and what happens is that they either provide poor power, resulting in stability issues, or they go out all of a sudden.
Best of luck with it.
Oh and I don't see how pluggin in the USB CD rom would be an issue, unless you have never used your USB port before and it choose this time to be picky.

First of all my psu is a thermaltake purepower 420w. I didn`t buy a complete system. I bought each Hardware. Tested cpu, graphics card, ram and psu on a friends computer. I am sure that the mobo didn`t get overheated. Normal temps of the mobo where like 27-34. I have a thermaltake xaser vm7000 case. Also tried a different psu (New) and dindn`t work again. The usb is being used almost every day. What worries me is that the mobo got burned when installed my new samsung dvd-rw. Coinsidence or Not????

Heh, no idea. I thought I would throw the idea out there about the PS since you didn't mention that you tested it. Anyways, the only thing I could even think of on this was the fact that since USB provides power, that somehow something could be shorting out, however, since you used this drive on someone else's computer, I don't see how that could be either.
Best of luck with it, please let us know what it ends up being.
Oh, do you need a loaner board while yours is getting RMA'ed, or do you got it covered?

Thanks for the help. Because in my country everything sucks i bought a new mobo and sent the burned one to asus for rma. I am going to sell the rma`ed one. Until now we haven`t figured out what got burned on the mobo. Now i got a p4c800 deluxe. I hope this lasts more. Maybe the life of the mobo got shorter because of the high temps of that f****g prescott cpu.
