New to overclocking...

Post by D1GP »

Although I've been around pc's forever, i never really experimented with it due to lack of hardware knowledge. if anyone can answer these questions, i'd appreciate it.

-does overclocking refer to the cpu speed? cuz i heard of graphics card being oc'd. and what benefits can i expect from doing it?

-my system is an athlon 1400mhz with 512 ram, and a radeon aiw 8500dv card, running on xp and i got one loud ass fan. anyway for a nooby like me to oc this system safely?

-when loading a game on warcraft 3, i load way slow, i donno why but i assume 512 ram is enough, what could be the problem?

alrite thx for your time.

overclocking is running something above its rated speed
so it could be your video card, cpu, etc..

your motherboard provides overclocking options, try gettin into your bios when first booting your pc
you can find all the options to overclock here.
we would need to know the name of your motherboard before we could naswer that question.

warcraft 3 load time=cpu speed
so if everyones loading before you, you got the slowest pc in the group
