XP2500+ locked O/C

Post by NascarFool »

Wow ! 11x200 @ 1.75v without a problem. I just bought this CPU for $68 used and it looks like it was never used. Might have to see how far I can push it.

System Specs:
400w CompUSA PS
XP2500+ (11x200 @ 1.75v with an Aero 7)
Epox 8RDA3+ rev 2
256megPC3500 HyperX (Kingston only guarantees PC2700 speeds on the 8RDA3+)
32meg TNT2 AGP
8GB Seagate (oldie, 5400rpm ? )
24x LiteOn CD
Samsung 1.44 floppy
WinXP Pro

hmm... i have about the same rig...

but when i run 200x11 @1.750 it works... but will randomly lock and when i go to play a game it half ass shuts down... the power light is on but the HD and all fans are off. and reset will do nothing.

I have a gig of 3500 XMS and a fx5200. i dont know what it is... but i just cant keep it running stably at that speed. you have any crazy ram timings? I also modded my bord some... and heat cant be the problem.

The ram is set to Auto and is at 400MHz (2x200). I have a HSF on the Northbridge. Is your board a Revision 2.x ?

i think it is.. the 2.x had the active cooler on the NB? cause i took mine off and replaced it with that other HS. that thing kicks ass compared to anything else... dissipates tons of heat (for a NB that is).

And what do you mean auto? by SPD? or %100? or is there an auto setting? and what you got the speed settings at.. aggressive turbo or optimal?

I have the ram set at 100% now and on Optimal. Having problems running a matched pair of HyperX but it runs great with a single stick install. I tried all slot combinations too. I think one stick is bad.

Onboard audio has always sucked. :D I always disable it and use an Audigy2. I have never had a problem with Creative sound cards. My previous card was an SB Live! X-gamers. It worked fine for two years. The Audigy 2 is so much more crisp and clean compared to the onboard audio. ;)

well all i use is digital out so it dont matter how "clean" it is its all digital... but this one cant output in AC3 format so it sucks. can the audigy 2 do it? and i dont need all the extra drive and crap... just spdif, be it coax or fiber outs.

Ahhhh . . .11x210 at 1.75v with the ram at CAS 2.5. No crashes. :D

*My Audigy 2 has a single Digital Out , no SPDIF jacks.

Isn't SPDIF the RCA type connections ? On the Audigy 2, the digital out is the same size jack as the regular speaker connections.

I don't think the Audigy2 can do AC3. I put the new HyperX ram in and now the XP2500+ is running at 11x210 and stable. :)
