EPoX 8RDA3+ and AC3?

Post by Pugsley »

I am using the SPDIF coax out to my reciever. when i had my 8rda+ i could get it to run in AC3 mode and sound was great. now i cant get it to go AC3 with the 8rda3+. there is sound... but its not sounding right cause of the setting i have when it was in AC3 mode. doe anybody know how to turn AC3 on? i know on the 8rda+ it was a simple check box, but this new mobo has a compleatly different control pannel for the audio.

Thanks

ok i found that the reason my 8rda+ had such kick ass onboard audio was cuz it had soundstorm on it. the 8rda3+ has this shitty c media crap. does anybody make a soundstorm pci card? or a card with the same features? cause i really need a card that can do AC3 output. and this one cant. neither can my soundblaster live.

I 'think' only audigy/sb platinum type cards or phillips acoustic edge supports ac3. Or:

Couldn't find a soundstorm pci card.
