I am looking into building my first computer. And I have been looking into some of the hardware and have been confused by the processors and motherboards and I dont want to spend a fortune. I am looking for some suggestions into what i should look for. I mainly use CAD programs and the internet.
My other question is where are good places to purchase hardware at a reasonable price?
I would apreciate any help I can get.
??help??
The best setup for the money is I believe a barton 2500+, shuttle an35n ultra and pc2700 ddr ram.
At newegg offhand I see <a href="http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.a ... ">kingston 512mb pc2700</a> for $78
shuttle <a href="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... a=0">an35n ultra</a> for 61.99
barton <a href="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... ">2500+</a> for $75. The retail version is $5 more.
I mention that setup mainly because it is fast, and you can overclock it to 3200+ speeds, if so inclined. If not, it's still very fast. Of course for lower speed processors you get for a lower price. Ram could be better too depending on the system you prefer.
Just depends what you want. The above is one popular suggestion for a similar setup that many of us (including me) have.
For a decent low cost power supply, see their <a href="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.a ... =1">Allied psu's</a>
If something like that isn't what you're looking for, or if it's too high, then post about what you are looking for and your price range. There are many options.
