Typical tech support

Post by NascarFool »

My complaint to Epox on my 8RDA+ (take note on the bold line)

--Details--
Random loss of PS/2 keyboard on reboots. Sometimes all LEDs on the keyboard remain light after a reboot but keyboard does not respond. Other times no LEDs light up and the keyboard does not respond. I have tried disconnecting all leads to the motherboard except the power switch leads. This happens with three different keyboards and any of the released bios files. I have to shut off and turn back on the power supply to get the keyboard port to work. I have tried with one stick of memory, no CD drives, one hard drive, etc. Is this board defective ? The last response from tech support did not fix the problem. (the last response was almost word for word of the current response)

And the reply from tech support . . . drum roll please . . . . . .

Carl,

Try disconnecting all wires from the front panel header, except for the power and reset switch.

Best Regards,

You got a reply. Did you really expect that much? Sure, he didn't read a word beyond "keyboard", but they actually acknowledged you exist.

An apology was recieved after I corrected him. He said I should RMA the board after I try it out of the case. Been there already. I sure hope AICMICRO.com is as good on an RMA as Newegg. If they won't RMA the board, Epox said to send it directly to them for RMA.

I wonder if Epox would send me an 8RDA3+ to replace the 8RDA+. <---- Wishful thinking. :)
