KR7A and USB2
KR7A and USB2
I have a KR7A (no RAID) mobo. I just upgraded to a Lian-Li case with front USB2 connections. I can't find anywhere in the ABIT manual where to put the little plugs. Something tells me the mobo doesn't support USB2. Is that the case? If so, how can I make the front ports work? Or am I doomed to a PCI card?
These are the instructions that came with my Thermalright SLK-800 cooler:
Assembly:
The assembly gestalltet itself just as simply as with the standard Slk-800. after the foil of the base plate was removed and the processor core with thermal compound moistened, leaves one the 6-Punkt-Halteklammer in the base noses to engage. Subsequently, the radiator box is aligned centrically on the base. By means of slotted bolt turners finally the catch side of the fixing clip down pressed to these on the base engages. A strammer contact pressure develops, whereby a good waermeaufnahme is ensured. Although the additionally existing PU Schaumpads provides for a safe seat on the processor, the PC should very carefully be transported and/or the radiators before transport be developed.

Well, as per the Abit website, the motherboard does not support USB2.0 onboard, however, the physical connecter at the front of your case may be able to be re-wired to the onboard usb 1.1 connecters on the motherboard.... abit does support usb 2.0 on both the KD7, and the "max series" of motherboards.. USB 2.0 just 'recently' became official, so you cant fault them for not including it on what is now a year old motherboard technology (I know, I saw them at comdex, vegas, 2001)
On page 22, of the manual that is downloadable from ABIT directly -- here

It shows the pinouts for the additional headers, if you compare that with what LIANLI has you should be able to find a match..
