Top Performance causing problems?

Post by Sean »

Well, it seems if I veer away from my stable 133 FSB with Top Performance enabled, I get a CONFIGMG error at windows load up. Temps are fine, and rame is all default except for the cAS 2 setting. I also re-installed windows on an older harddrive, same thing. When i disabled Top Perf. (and left ram at CAS 2) it works fine. This all started after my new ATI Radeon 8500LE, which has caused a number of problems, one of them being the stupid annoying line problem.. :( (http://www.pcabusers.com/forums/showthr ... adid=19104) Its a great card, but it likes to screw around with me.

If Top Performance doesn't really help any, I'll leave it off.. What do you think?

Got to admire your loyalty Sean. I have never seen anybody have so many problems with a card and still think it is great.

Should have just got an Actual ATI Radeon 8500 LE... Might pay a couple extra bucks... But the 6071 drivers for it kick ass... 1.66 Gig XP 9102 default 3dmark2k1se this is a retail at 275/275. You might try forcing the actual ATI drivers on that card. I put my a OEM 7000 in my dad's comp and forced the ATI drivers due to poor performance with the reference drivers. They worked fine.

I am pretty much done beong loyal.. I don't think its the Radeon, I think it's just Gigabyte.. So, i am sending the Gigabyte AP64D back (once I am approved) and am going to buy a Bare Radeon 8500LE which has 3.3 NS ram.. the one I have now only has 4ns... :P
